white trash family

I guess no family is completely free of those members who the rest of the family isn't entirely proud of. Unfortunately for me, I have almost a whole side of the family I don't respect (nor does anyone else).

Two days before my wedding my 25 year old meth addicted cousin calls me and says he's going to be at my wedding. At first I assumed he'd never make it but with every phone call he made he got closer and closer to Colorado. Eventually I told him that he better not get stuck here and I'd give him money to go back to Florida. He didn't listen.

Now he's here and he's been calling me non-stop and wants to get together. Yesterday I fucking snapped and told him what a worthless piece of shit he is and that I want nothing to do with him until he cleans up his act. He said he's got a job interview on Friday and assured me his life is totally together. Yeah, together in the sense that he's wanted in Florida and can't go back so he drove here and wants to make himself my problem. He keeps dropping all this "Family is forever cuz" shit on me. I fucking hate people like him and I wish there were ways to divorce blood ties just like a marriage.

I really hope it gets cold soon and him and his crack-whore of a girlfriend freeze to death in their car or at least get frost bitten enough to run for a warmer climate. Fuck my crazy white trash family.

hobo power

Adam Carolla and Dr. Drew invented a way to measure stink. They assign numbers to smelly items on a scale from 1 to 100. 10 hobo power would be a good fart while asparagus urine would get a 30 and a rotting corpse would probably get a 100.

Ever smelled a 100 hobo power? I once came across this dead toad baking in the summer sun. As it decomposed its body cavity filled with gas and for whatever reason the skin became sealed and trapped all the gas inside effectively creating a noxious gas filled toad balloon. Being 10 years old I thought it would be cool to step on it and "pop" the toad. After giving it a good stomp the rotting toad gas ran for the upper atmosphere passing near my nose. The smell was so horrible I actually began dry heaving. I can honestly say it was the worst thing I've ever smelled and it came near a 100 hobo power.

Using the hobo power scale, what it the worst thing you've ever smelled?

lifestyles of the rich and really rich

This is what I've been working on for the last week. Can't say I designed it, but I've been making sure the plans are correct so it can be built properly. Can't say I hate my job.

married

Where do I begin?

Most would say being married isn't any different than being unmarried but I beg to differ. A married couple (more specifically, a young married couple) commands respect and it takes a lot to get it. I think it takes a certain level of maturity to wed at a young age and it's easy to tell if the couple is mature or just plain stupid.

I'm not saying maturity comes with age by any means. I feel like a large percentage of people in this country marry because it's just the next step in the progression of what they've been taught is right. They're getting close to 30, have a good job and figure they better find someone that meets their requirements so they can marry and have children by 35. It's because of people like them that the divorce rate in this country is near 50%.

I know our marriage is different. How do I know you ask? It's as easy as listening to what those around you have to say. Nicole and I have been told on more than one occasion that we're looked up to. I can honestly say that there's been nothing else that touches my heart like a friend telling us they get something from our relationship. I also know because we're willing to change for one another. Nicole and I, while we may be the fiercest of fighters at times, never lose sight of the greater good.

I feel like such a firm grounding gave Nicole and I a spectacular wedding day. Sure, there were things that didn't go right, and yeah, we were completely stressed out up until the last few hours of the wedding, but when we look back on it I know we wouldn't change a thing.

I want to thank everyone who helped us in any way. Without you we couldn't have done it.

Also, I want to thank everyone who came and celebrated our union with us. You all made it a really, really great time.

painting

So I hadn't tried my hand at painting since Dan ran into my room and stuck a paintbrush in my hand way back in 2003. Today I decided to give it a try again. I must admit the idea for the paintings isn't mine. It's a knockoff of some art I saw in a parade home in 2005. Below are the results. Example A is 100% complete while Example B is only 80% Let me know what you think.

dropped

The work project I posted about a while back has been cancelled. The building cost came in at over 2 million and the people building the home had set a limit at 2.

I put in 66 hours on the project. It doesn't cost me anything but it sucks to see all the work I've done go nowhere. It also sucks for the firm. The project is about 65% complete and I don't know if they get 65% of their bid, the whole bid or nothing at all. Bummer.
