To be completely honest I've been a bad friend... Dan has been pouring a good portion of his valuable time into scoreher.com and asking for feedback and I've been an asshole and ignored him. I may have no use for the site but I know Dan would give me feedback on anything I asked him whether he could relate to it or not.
So, to comply with his latest request I read a few articles over at scoreher.com and have linked to my favorties below.
The Dos and Don'ts Of Online Dating
I agree and disagree with the author on a few points but I feel she didn't emphasise enough on one key component: BE YOURSELF! So many people put on fake facades when online that when you actually meet them in person they're nothing like you'd expect. Also, commentor Ted game me a real good laugh.
Online Dating Bubble Will Burst
I couldn't disagree more with the title of this article. 20th Century Fox movie producer Darryl Zanuck said in 1946, "Television won't last because people will soon get tired of staring at a plywood box every night." and couldn't have been more wrong. While the title was a thorn in my side the article was full of useful information for the dating impaired.
On an extremely unusual side note involving both TV and dating: Yesterday while home for lunch Nicole and I were watching some design challenge show on HGTV where they take a design school student and give them a real design situation. We were talking and watching the show when I realized that the design student they chose for that episode was a girl I dated my freshman year of college. Talk about surprise! I had asked her out to get myself back in the dating game (after never having really experienced it) and had such a terrible time that I was scared to ever go out again.
Nicole commented "When ex-dates start popping up on television you've really dated every girl in the state" to which I replied "That's why I had to start looking in New Mexico!"
