Not So Little Brother

I cant begin to express how proud I am of my little brother this week. Last year when he graduated highschool I begged him to leave Roswell. If even just to go to Albuquerque or even Las Cruces, I urged him to do anything but stay in Roswell. He weighed his options and chose to remain in that god forsaken place. It broke my heart. During our last visit to Roswell the situation weighed on Dominic's heart too, he wrote about it here.

Well, some time has passed and apparently my brother decided to grow balls the size of watermelons. This weekend he threw Roswell the proverbial finger and moved to San Antonio, Texas. Why San Antonio? We have a cousin out there who's his age and they're planning on getting a place together. I genuinely dont care how or why I'm just elated about his decision. San Antonio (though it is in Texas) is a city full of opportunity, diversity, and well, people. I think it will give him the tools he needs to grow and use his talent to its fullest.

Even more shocking is that my brother's big move has sparked a fire in my parents too. They've finally realized what I've been saying since I could speak: ROSWELL SUCKS! Sucks so much they too have decided to move to San Antonio. They're fixing up the house to get it sold. My dad has already told his employers that by this time next year they'll be gone. I've waited my whole life to see my parents leave that awful place.

I'm excited for them all to see what the world has to offer and how beautiful change can be.

That is awesome! I hope your parent's house sells fast so they can get out of that nasty place.
