One Year Ago Today...

as the sun set behind us, Dominic and I read our vows to each other over the feedback on our rented PA in front of our friends and family. Today, we watched the sunset from that very spot and reminisced about the wedding and about our first year of marriage. And just like this day last year i've been an emotional mess.

Words are in short supply this evening so I leave you with a photo...

jess :

You two are as lovely as lovely can be. It's a treasure to have you both and your relationship in my life. Congratulations.

dave:

you guys look great together. out of curiosity, what do you think are the best and worst parts of being married now. go buffs!!

Jessica,
thank you for your beautiful words. your friendship means the world to us.

Dave,
The best part of being married would have to be waking up to this wonderful man everyday and knowing that he'll be here from now until forever even when i'm PMSing and have 4 finals and term papers and look like a troll, and he'll be there with a smile and tell me he loves me. But i think that might be less of a function of being married and more of a reason to be. In fact, I dont believe marriage changes anything and people who think it does are setting themselves up for disappointment.

The worst part about being married was having to claim Dominic's income on my FASFA and not getting any grants for school this year.

You are so much prettier than I am. If you look like a troll sometimes I must look like a baby Daubentonia madagascariensis when I wake up.
