WOW! WOW! WOW!

I can't even begin to articulate how perfect tonight turned out.

Details tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Saves the Day

Last night Dominic, Dan and I saw Saves the Day at the Aztlan theater. Upon our arrival we notice an inordinate number of tools filling up the venue. So we head over to the bar to ease the pain. It is here we decide this is the worst venue ever. Not only can you not see the stage you can't even hear the bands!

And then it was time for Saves the Day! As always they put on an amazing show, but that's not the best part. The best part of the night came much later when Dominic and I had the opportunity to talk to Chris, the lead singer. Not only did he give us his time, he was kind, and agreed to do Dominic and I a favor. A favor that will be a part of our lives forever.
Thank you, Chris!

Lions, Tigers and Promotions

If you haven't already read my eager fiance's blog, I've been promoted! I've been planning on posting but between us both being sick, concerts, dinner with friend's parents, weddings, and such I just haven't had the time. Thank you Dominic for spilling the beans.

My new position is in admissions/recruiting, while still doing career placement. I've been teamed up with the current admissions person and the hope is to fill classes from now through the end of the year. I think I'm really going to enjoy my new responsibilities and I think I'm going to do well in my new position.

Yay Promotions!

Not So Little Brother

I cant begin to express how proud I am of my little brother this week. Last year when he graduated highschool I begged him to leave Roswell. If even just to go to Albuquerque or even Las Cruces, I urged him to do anything but stay in Roswell. He weighed his options and chose to remain in that god forsaken place. It broke my heart. During our last visit to Roswell the situation weighed on Dominic's heart too, he wrote about it here.

Well, some time has passed and apparently my brother decided to grow balls the size of watermelons. This weekend he threw Roswell the proverbial finger and moved to San Antonio, Texas. Why San Antonio? We have a cousin out there who's his age and they're planning on getting a place together. I genuinely dont care how or why I'm just elated about his decision. San Antonio (though it is in Texas) is a city full of opportunity, diversity, and well, people. I think it will give him the tools he needs to grow and use his talent to its fullest.

Even more shocking is that my brother's big move has sparked a fire in my parents too. They've finally realized what I've been saying since I could speak: ROSWELL SUCKS! Sucks so much they too have decided to move to San Antonio. They're fixing up the house to get it sold. My dad has already told his employers that by this time next year they'll be gone. I've waited my whole life to see my parents leave that awful place.

I'm excited for them all to see what the world has to offer and how beautiful change can be.

Hallelujah!

The sun is shining, the snow is melting, and this little mexican icicle is finally defrosting. Even if its only temporary I'm going to praise the lord for this one.

only in Los Angeles

Remember what I said about Dominic's job being blogworthy? Well, thanks to connections through his firm I have some blogworthy news!

Again because of the confidentiality I can't say any names or anything but today is about to be an amazing day for me. I will be assisting a very talented and well known architectural photographer in capturing the extravagant Beverly Hills condo of one of the world's most famous music icons. I'm not getting paid or anything, but I'm more than happy to fill in for the guy's m.i.a. assistant!

I'm really excited! Not because I get to see how the stars live but because I get to see how a real live photographer captures it! I will have so many questions but I think I'll be too afraid to ask. I hope he's not afraid to share something about photography with me. Whether or not he does, I am certain this will be an epic day for me! Dominic says it could be the start of something photographic, we'll see.
